Jericha in One Minute
Jericha is a Void-shaped magical world whose current calendar begins with the Modern Binding, its creation at 0 M.B. Its many peoples are collectively Witchborn: distinct species joined by Common speech and an inborn Power that may awaken after a life trigger. Trade and gold opened the Golden Age; circulating magic helped ordinary people understand Powers, learn Aspects, and build the schools, jobs, and classes of the Knowledge Age. The Drakkuskan War led into the first Centrum's age of coordinated magic, portals, and resurrection. The Centrum fell, leaving the current Void Era to rebuild amid scarcity, dangerous relic economies, regional governments, and an uncertain attempt to create a new Centrum.
A magical world shaped beside the Void
The Void is the dangerous raw source beneath Jericha's many forms of magic.
World
Jerichan traditions describe the world as a creation of the Modern Binding involving the Aboleth, Emrys, and the powers represented by the Alignment. Ordinary magic, divine effects, relics, crystals, and inherited Power all ultimately touch the Void, even when cultures disagree about what that means.
The peoples of Jericha are Witchborn
Species describes ancestry and form; Witchborn describes the shared Jerichan condition.
People
Witchborn is a shared Jerichan identity, not a species. Humans, elves, orcs, dragonborn, Forged, and many others remain distinct, but Jericha's influence gave its settled peoples Common speech and an inborn Power. A Power may awaken only after a trigger; Powers belong to Aspects, and each current Aspect contains 42 Powers.
Trade made magic ordinary enough to teach
Commerce spreads magic; learning turns awakened Power into society.
History
After the Dragon Age, communities organized around their own elders and leaders. Trade made gold valuable as both currency and alchemical material, driving the Golden Age. The resulting movement of magic and magic items awakened more commoners' Powers and supported Aspect-based professions, adventuring classes, guilds, monasteries, town teachers, VQU, Kremgrad, and the wider Knowledge Age.
The first Centrum coordinated a fractured postwar world
The Centrum turned heroic alliances into institutions—and made their failures systemic.
Centrum
After the Drakkuskan War and Fangapor's revolt over centralized rule, Titian, Albert, Magala, and Nora formed the agreement behind the first Centrum. X Grymmeye added pragmatic geographic survey and the portal-and-reservoir network; Uthred brought representation Kremgrad would accept. The institution later organized magical abundance and resurrection before its hidden failures caused collapse.
The Void Era is rebuilding inside scarcity
Jericha's present is not post-crisis; rebuilding, scarcity, and new crises happen together.
Present
Gold dominates practical exchange while charged relics, magical bodies, Boost, and old infrastructure attract extraction and political control. Local governments, schools, faiths, guilds, Lawful divisions, adventuring groups, and a disputed new Centrum all try to replace services the old order once coordinated. Who is in charge depends on where a traveler is standing.
