The Centrum

Nora’s Centrum 2.0 publicly claims the old institution’s name, with a roster naming Nora, X Grymmeye, Captain Alara Vren, Lady Marnette Duskshade, Horton and Ignotus. The attempted revival is active but internally inconsistent. Astrid Ironhoof’s selection was publicly announced and then publicly retracted in favor of Ignotus, leader of the Black Company. The reversal is an established political event; it does not by itself explain the council’s private reasons or prove that its members share a coherent mission.^[1]

The revived council does not command the locally autonomous Lawful divisions. Its limited cooperation with the Queefdom is a partnership, not the recovery of every power once exercised by the old Centrum. This distinction matters whenever a council announcement is treated as a local command: a shared name, a security-force ceremony or a cooperating office does not erase the separate authority of other cities and regions.^[1]

Government through magical provision

The Centrum was formally established in 2025 M.B., after the Drakkuskan War, through the agreement of Titian, Albert, Magala and Nora. X Grymmeye and Uthred, the representative Kremgrad would accept, joined the arrangement. Its extraordinary magic could supply towns with food, water, shelter and protection at relatively little effort to its founders. Communities rewarded that stability with governing authority, allowing a provider of essential services to become a power making decisions across Jericha.^[1]

Votes, foresight and the map

Major decisions were formally put to votes, but the council did not operate as an even balance of voices. Nora and Magala often dominated discussion by claiming that Magala’s foresight had already revealed a vote’s outcome or consequences, a tactic that particularly frustrated Albert. Uthred rarely returned to Von Queef University for council business. X’s lich durability, meanwhile, made sustained town-by-town surveying practical and helped establish the portal-and-reservoir map through which the Centrum connected its territory.^[1]

Abundance and collapse

The old Centrum coordinated portals, Void reservoirs, resurrection and the energy economy, shaping everyday expectations around easy magical consumption. It left laws, archives, enemies, inflationary pressure and habits of recovering old relics. Its collapse around Albert Rallus’s hidden M.A.I. work broke the governing order while leaving people struggling over energy still held in old items and bodies. Surviving institutions inherited those pressures without acquiring a clean succession to the old council’s authority.^[1]
