Mortellus Vayne and the Scrolls
Description
Chapel loot and diaries identify the dead necromancer as part of the Vayne family and connect him to Mortis: Mortellus Vayne, remembered as the necromancer who created the mass-resurrection scroll Baron used to revive the Duskborn. Mortellus is therefore not only a local chapel threat; he is a maker of resurrection tools with political reach.[4]
Aria Vayne and Gertie's Bargain
Description
Aria Vayne, also remembered by Pink Pony Tavern people as Blue-Haired Girl, is tied to a Gertie bargain over a future firstborn. The diaries say Mortellus made undead companions for Aria after that bargain, making the family story a mix of protection, possession, grief, and debt.[5]
Baron's Duskborn Revival
Description
The Duskborn are part of the same resurrection shadow. Player-facing records tie Baron to the mass-resurrection scroll Mortellus created and used for Duskborn revival. That makes Duskborn history a legal, noble, necromantic, and VQU-adjacent question rather than just a vampire-guard faction note.[6]
The Chapel as Evidence Site
Description
The Vayne chapel route near Root Barrel Farm is where local undead trouble stops being only a farm rescue and becomes a window into older VQU, Duskborn, and Gertie lore. Vayne-labeled boxes, diaries, necromancy loot, a trapped Black Wingkin, and chapel corpses make the site both map landmark and historical evidence.[8]
