Scholarly Era and Learning Institutions
The Scholarly Era is an era within the broader Knowledge Age. It begins as the wizards who defeated the dragons take power, teach other wizards, and expand wizard-led institutions. Before the modern rise of Power Nine churches, universities, schools, adventuring programs, guild apprenticeships, monasteries, city academies, and village teachers made learning Jericha's prestige engine. VQU and Kremgrad are the oldest and most prestigious schools; Luxidran School of Alchemical Studies in Stormcall is newer, built in the Centrum era after the Drakkuskan War.
An era inside the Knowledge Age
Knowledge Age is the age; Scholarly Era is the nested institutional period.
Chronology
The Scholarly Era does not compete with the Knowledge Age as a separate age. It is the period within that age that begins when the dragon-defeating wizards take control, establish teaching networks, and reproduce their power through new schools and trained successors. Its exact ending remains undecided.
Learning as a civic strategy
Education became town infrastructure, not only personal ambition.
Scholarly Era
During the Scholarly Era, towns, villages, and cities increasingly treated education as the path to survival and status. A place with teachers, practical spellcraft, craft training, or adventuring contacts could produce useful Witchborn and attract attention beyond its walls.
VQU and Kremgrad
Use VQU and Kremgrad as old prestige-school poles.
Prestige Schools
Von Queef University and Kremgrad are the oldest and most prestigious school anchors in the current world model. VQU dominates South Aerovian and Queefdom institutional memory; Kremgrad anchors East Rekhyov's severe, disciplined scholarly tradition.
Luxidran School of Alchemical Studies
Luxidran is major, but not ancient.
Centrum School
Luxidran School of Alchemical Studies in Stormcall is newer than VQU and Kremgrad. It was built during the Centrum era after the Drakkuskan War and has become one of the larger major schools in the current day, especially for alchemy and institutional research culture.
Containment is not ordinary schooling
Ragefort is training under pressure, not a university.

Ragefort belongs in the modern learning map because dangerous Witchborn may be sent there to live in a clan-like environment, learn discipline, and be contained. It teaches, but its lessons are inseparable from custody, strength law, and public fear.
Guilds teach without becoming schools
Guild training is education by work.
Guilds
Guilds are not technically schools, but they teach craft, trade, survival, professional etiquette, and dangerous practical knowledge. In many cities, guild learning may matter more to daily life than formal academy study.
Discipline schools
Monasteries are learning institutions through discipline.
Monasteries
Monasteries train Witchborn in arts of discipline: body, mind, craft, spiritual practice, martial study, or self-control. They sit beside universities as another respected way to become useful, dangerous, or whole.
City schools and village teachers
Not all learning happens in famous schools.
Local Schools
Most cities have smaller schools that teach to a practical level, while many villages have a teacher who knows a few things well enough to pass them on. This uneven local learning network is one reason Scholarly Era values reached ordinary people instead of staying locked in elite universities.

Scholarly Era learning first; modern Power Nine churches later.
Power Nine
The Power Nine were not a central framework during the Titian campaign era, and Witchborn in the Scholarly Era generally treated schools, universities, and practical training as more important public institutions. In the modern day, churches devoted to different Power Nine deities are becoming more prevalent.
