The Return of the Centrum

Centrum 2.0 is a public attempt to govern the Void Era without repeating the first collapse.

The new body is publicly described as a council formed by Nora Rabe von Queef to defend Witchborn rights, maintain balance, secure peace among cities, and govern in a fractured era where the first Centrum's failures are still fresh.

The name is branding, warning, and argument at once.

Calling the body Centrum 2.0 is a political risk. The old Centrum still means order, resurrection protocols, high magic, and peace to some citizens; to others it means Albert's hidden economy, M.A.I. work, VQU catastrophe, and institutional arrogance. The new council is trying to claim the useful memory without inheriting every indictment.

The council bridges Queefdom power, Lawful security, Duskshade civics, prophecy, resurrection law, and Drakthar's shadows.

The recorded members are Nora Rabe von Queef as chair and shadow diplomat; X Grymmeye as strategist and architect; Captain Alara Vren as security commander; Lady Marnette Duskshade as civic envoy; Horton as divination archivist; and Ignotus as infernal sorcerer and Black Company representative.

The roster is a map of what the new order fears it cannot ignore.

Nora gives the council Queefdom legitimacy and a surviving link to the old collapse. X gives strategy, resurrection law, and memory of what the old order cost. Alara brings Lawful security and South Aerovian enforcement. Marnette brings Duskshade civic influence and alchemical prestige. Horton brings foresight, risk, and temporal recordkeeping. Ignotus brings Black Company leverage, Geistatts/Drakthar representation, and a willingness to put shadows inside the room rather than outside it.

Astrid's exclusion is political, not just personnel trivia.

Astrid Ironhoof was nominated, vetted, and provisionally accepted as Head of Alchemical Studies before her name was withdrawn at the eleventh hour and replaced by Ignotus. The public debate around that move matters because Astrid represented progress and innovation while Ignotus represented the decision to bind shadow economies into government.

Astrid may be outside the council because she can read the evidence too clearly.

Astrid later notices that old Centrum-era potions carry true void resonance while newer Boost-related work appears watered down or altered. That makes her exclusion more than wounded pride: the council removed a practical alchemical witness just as void-alchemy, Boost, and magical scarcity became central to the age.

Ignotus is both representation and contamination risk.

Ignotus's appointment is not a clean reform story. It recognizes that the Black Company, Geistatts, Drakthar fracture, underworld contracts, and memory-dark politics cannot simply be wished out of government. His seat may stabilize what the old Centrum ignored, or it may normalize the very shadow economy the new order claims it can control.

The field teams are where policy becomes pressure.

The new council does not act only through proclamations. New VQU, QII, QUEST, intake clerks, item declarations, and the New Centrum Security Forces turn politics into assignments, audits, field missions, and public spectacle. When the party is asked for artifacts or sent into danger, they are touching the operational side of Centrum 2.0.

The New Centrum is self-aware about the old Centrum's blind spots.

Greta's appended note argues that the first Centrum faltered by ignoring what it could not control, while the new Centrum chooses to bind even its shadows into the circle. Whether that prevents collapse or accelerates it is left as the historical question.

Centrum 2.0 is felt first as paperwork, spectacle, and rumor.

Most people will not meet the council. They notice its return through posters, VQU recruitment, Lawful cooperation, artifact quotas, school intake, public security teams, rumors about Astrid being passed over, and the uneasy knowledge that Ignotus and the Black Company have been given a chair instead of a warrant.
