Barney serves as brewmaster, creating tonics that support the community and draw attention from powers beyond the farm. His craft and Marnie’s healing work give the venture a place within the commune’s daily care.^[1]^[2]

History

Brewing for a community

Rootbarrel Brewing Company is the alchemical brewing venture associated with Barney and Marnie Rootbarrel and the older Medusa’s Farm community. Its roots lie in the pair’s farming life: Barney helped turn abandoned land near the Glow Pools into a working commune, while Marnie’s work developed from naturalism and beet farming into the protection of damaged soil and its survivors. The brewery belongs to that wider effort to make a place where people can live and recover.^[1]^[2]^[3]
