Red-Ledgers and the Krampus Contract Economy

Red-Ledgers are Krampus-aligned elves named for the physical red ledgers in which they record what they collect and the deals they make. They distribute cursed gifts and carry orders for Krampus. A recipient's acceptance of the item activates its magical contract even if the recipient does not know the terms; the exploitative lack of informed consent is part of why the system is evil.
