Voidborn, Castro, and Legacy Terminology
Voidborn and Voidling are interchangeable Jerichan terms for beings that outsiders might call aliens: life from beyond Jericha. Castro is the specific name for one type of Voidborn, not a replacement for every Voidborn people. Voidborn Soulflayers are a higher breed that embeds itself in systems and feeds on the souls or energy of those systems while maintaining an apparently normal public structure.[1]

How to use this reference
Step 3
Use Voidborn Soulflayer, or Soulflayer when context is clear, for the systemic energy-draining beings represented by Salvatore Mentali and the Sulduraks.[2]
Voidborn and Voidling are universal terms
Description
Voidborn and Voidling describe people and creatures from the Outer Void. They are intentionally interchangeable. Castro names a specific kind of Voidborn and should only be applied when that identity has been established.[3]
Predators inside systems
Description
Soulflayers such as Salvatore Mentali and the Sulduraks integrate into institutions and drain the souls or energy of the system on a broad scale. They resemble puppet masters or institutional energy vampires more than creatures that literally feed and breed.[4]
Half-Castro
Description
Mixed Castro descendants are described as half-Castro. Half-Castro and half-Dragonborn is the most common recorded combination, though other mixed lineages may exist.[5]
Retired archive wording
Description
Unedited transcripts, journals, and older source sheets may still contain retired tabletop terms. Resolve each subject from context: some specific captors are Castro, while other records refer only to Voidborn or to Soulflayers.[6]
