Garrik Tim-Tam is a former warlock in Point Pringle who watches reality the way other men watch weather. With a golden ocular implant and a chess piece always in hand, he studies patterns most citizens never notice: civic coincidences, broken sequences, and distortions tied to Trixie’s games. Whatever pact once empowered him is gone, severed under circumstances he does not explain, but the knowledge remains. Garrik acts less like a hero than a quiet safeguard, tracking anomalies until the board reveals its next move. Some say he still hears his patron whispering. Others think he is simply waiting for one specific piece to fall.[2]
