Nick Returns and the Polar Bear Cub

The session begins in Cynthiana of the Wilds' cave, where the party has taken refuge after escaping the Githyanki-controlled dragonborn fortress. Their mission is clear: find Magus, also known as Virgil Grey, Cynthiana's missing husband. As they prepare to leave, an unexpected visitor arrives: Nick Kremp, who stumbles through a portal while walking through Gravenhurst and is suddenly reunited with the party.

The group ascends the snow-covered mountain through howling winds and treacherous paths. Jonah and Victor are knocked from their footing by powerful gusts, and Ash leads the tracking effort toward the polar bear den. The group finds a side entrance, but Jonah alerts the bears inside.

The cave holds two polar bears and an enormous yeti. Nick unleashes scorching rays against the yeti, Jonah is paralyzed by its chilling gaze, and Ash and Victor fight desperately. Nick lands the final blow against the yeti, but the fight continues until Maine ends the remaining threat with firebolt.

After the battle, the party finds a baby polar bear cub beside a discarded adventurer's pouch. The realization settles in: they killed the cub's parents. Nick, overcome with guilt, picks up the cub and vows to care for it. The cub becomes Nick's responsibility.

Maine retrieves a key from the yeti's stomach and unlocks a chest containing a Potion of Heroism and a Frost Brand Longsword. The group returns Virgil to Cynthiana, who prepares a teleportation circle back to Gravenhurst. Virgil gives his grimoire to Maine, hinting at a possible pact and deeper arcane power.
