The Field Trip Escapes New Goblin City

The party returned from the Emrite audience to find the field trip still intact. That counted as a victory. Zetch had acquired a goblin slingshot and was extremely proud of it. Ellenthyra Mew and Nell Quiv were less interested in souvenir culture than in the growing number of goblins taking notice of the outsiders who had been inside the city too long. New Goblin City had given the party corpses, fees, theology, black-market confusion, and one blue Wingkin who liked his throne a little too much. It had also given them enough warning to leave before the whole place decided to become a problem at once. They moved out. Outside the cave, the group made camp and sorted the shape of the rescue work. The blue Wingkin lead was handled in the practical sense: Valbrandt was alive, located, and not asking for help. In the moral sense, Mergel's request had made that answer incomplete. The northern Wingkin route remained. Morgan, because rest apparently encouraged entrepreneurship, pitched the students on a body-part business opportunity. The idea was terrible, revealing, and extremely Morgan. By the time the camp settled, New Goblin City was behind them. The questions it raised were not.
