The Box Has Four Locks After All

Jixie nearly lost the box before he even reached the bottom.

The descent wore him down until he collapsed with the chained cargo still in his care. For Hugo, the moment looked like opportunity. He tried to take the box, or at least open it enough to learn what made it worth this much fear.

The box resisted being simple.

Hugo managed to unlock one of four locks before the situation snapped back around him. Elmyra gave Jixie a healing potion, and the wounded guide recovered enough to re-secure the cargo and keep moving toward the Dimoggio route.

That changed the mystery.

The previous count of three locks was no longer reliable. In this moment, the box was confirmed with four locks, one briefly opened, still chained, still Jixie's responsibility, and still important enough that losing it could mean death.

The party did not learn what was inside.

They learned the box was protected by layers, and that the Dimoggio Clan's consequences were probably built the same way.
