Jonah Falls Through the Owlbear Nest

After the fight, Jonah did what Jonah often does when the room stops trying to kill everyone.

He investigated something that immediately became a new problem.

The owlbear nest held an egg, which was already enough to catch his attention. Then the nest floor collapsed beneath him, dropping him into a lower cavern with the egg in the middle of the disaster. Elmyra jumped down after him without hesitation.

Jonah took only minor bludgeoning damage, but the fall changed the shape of the cave.

The upper chamber had not been the bottom. Beneath the gnolls and owlbear remains was a deeper ecosystem, a hidden space that would soon reveal something much larger than a rescue lead. Jonah ended up holding or claiming the egg, which carried its own strange possibility: it might hatch into a Lloyd-corrupted owlbear.

Temple Ironhoof was noted as the likely person to understand that kind of critter-companion problem.

The party came for missing dragonborn.
