Elmyra Clears the Cave With Fireball

The gnoll ambush did not stay complicated for long once Elmyra found the cluster. She used Fireball and erased the witch doctor, the summoned hyenas, and the gnoll support caught in the blast. The spell hit hard enough to solve the immediate tactical problem, dealing thirty-five fire damage and turning the upper cave from an organized ambush into cleanup. Of course, Elmyra's magic did not come without weather. The chaotic backlash made her drop her Fireball scroll, a small but telling cost beside the much larger fact that Prism-style magic had once again solved a fight by detonating the room hard enough for everyone to notice. Ash pummeled the flesh gnawer. Jonah kept people standing with healing and stone-cardinal attacks. Vic closed the distance. Morgan moved through her own odd casting rhythm, first with an Elaine-style Animate Dead attempt, then eventually killing the last huntmaster with Toll the Dead. The party survived the ambush. Elmyra had made herself very useful. Also very loud.
