Black Wingkin Goes Back With Jonah's Warhammer

The first missing dragonborn returned to Root Barrel Farm alive, but not exactly reassured. The rescued Black Wingkin reluctantly accepted Jonah's mundane warhammer, unimpressed that the weapon was not magical. It was still a weapon, still better than nothing, and still a very Jonah kind of parting gift: practical, sincere, and just slightly underwhelming to someone who had survived zombies in a ruined chapel. When the party circled back past the farm, Orval Finkus praised them for recovering one of his dragonborn. That word still mattered. His gratitude was real enough to come with pudding. His possessiveness was real enough to keep the rescue morally unsettled. The Black Wingkin had been saved from the chapel, but returning him to the farm did not answer whether the farm was home, refuge, workplace, or cage. The count had changed. Black Wingkin was recovered. Green remained tied to the fields. Red pointed toward the cave or cathedral area. Blue remained uncertain in the wider farm-board mess. The party had made progress. Progress, in Gravenhurst, did not mean clean.
