Black Wingkin Hides Above the Dead Necromancer

The party chose the necromancer-hut lead first, which led them to an abandoned chapel full of rot, old magic, and the wrong kind of hunger. Inside, two attractive zombies were eating a dead necromancer while a Black Wingkin hid in the rafters. That made the rescue simple in objective and messy in execution. Elmyra fireballed the zombies, but the blast also knocked the dragonborn down, turning help into another near-injury before the party had even cleared the room. More zombies came out. The group finished them off, but the chapel did not feel like a clean rescue site. It felt like a place where someone else's necromancy had collapsed inward, leaving a survivor above the floor and a corpse being consumed by its own consequences. The Black Wingkin survived. He also made the farm problem harder to simplify. He called Orval Finkus a piece of shit, but admitted the farm had given them somewhere to live after void imprisonment. He had come to loot or gather supplies and been trapped by zombies. Rescue did not make Root Barrel Farm good. It made the alternative look worse.
