The Troll Under the Bridge Possesses Morgan

The road to the farm found a way to become a fight before the party reached the farm. At a bridge outside Gravenhurst, the group found a defeated, harvested troll corpse hidden back under the structure. It was already a bad sign: a body used, stripped, and left where travelers might miss the story of what had happened to it. Then Vic threw a dagger into the corpse. The spirit in the remains answered through Morgan's necromancy. Morgan became briefly possessed, struck Vic Vaurr, and then detonated the body with necromantic power. The blast injured nearby allies and turned an investigation stop into immediate intra-party violence. The danger was not only the damage. Morgan and Vic already distrusted each other, and the bridge proved how quickly that distrust could become physical when necromancy, impulse, and a corpse with lingering will entered the same space. Morgan also gained a lingering risk: failed Intelligence saves might let the troll take over until she took damage. The farm was still ahead. The party was already cracking on the road.
