The Trap Is Not for Jonah

Jonah chased the Nick-like figure and found a trap instead.

The trap belonged to an unnamed infernal hunter, but the hunter was not Nick. He was waiting for something else entirely: Castro. That changed the meaning of the alley in an instant. The strange figure, the warnings about shapeshifters, and the larger Castro threat were not distant campaign smoke. Someone was actively hunting the voidling bastard inside the Queefdom.

Jonah nearly avoided the trap.

Then he fell into it anyway.

The hunter pulled him out, which was the first sign that this was not a simple ambush. Jonah's manner may have looked bumbling, but his gear told another story. The hunter recognized that Jonah was a capable cleric, or at least someone important enough to be worth speaking to instead of leaving in a reset mechanism.

Jonah responded by offering a Djeebus pamphlet and inviting him to meet the group.

It was very Jonah.

It also worked. A Castro-hunting infernal entered the party's orbit, carrying exactly the kind of suspicion Gravenhurst now needed.
