Nick Kremp Is Seen Alive

The problem with seeing Nick Kremp alive was that too many people remembered him dead. Gemma and Elmyra both reported recent sightings. Nick had apparently been seen with I.J. and P.B. near a farm, moving through the world like someone with chores, not like a corpse or a memory. That might have been comforting if Jonah, Ash, and Oskar did not all remember Point Pringle differently. They remembered Enemy killing him. Oskar remembered the ugly clarity of it: Nick was present, then no longer present, because of a stab. That made the new sightings feel less like a miracle and more like a contradiction walking around in daylight. Then the group glimpsed a Nick-like infernal figure in town. Jonah tried to catch him, but the figure vanished before Jonah could close the distance. The moment turned the whole session around. QUEST quotas, Djon Charleston, the Graven Scourge, even Maine's absence all had to share space with a sharper question. Was Nick alive? Was someone wearing him? Or had Enemy's trident, Castro shapeshifters, and the party's memory left a stranger wound than anyone had understood?
