Act 5, Episode 5, Scene 19
Jonah Interrupts the Big Project
2026-04-09 / Gravenhurst square / old Black Ward chapel
Gemma pointed Jonah toward Djon Charleston, and Gravenhurst's faith problem became impossible to ignore. Djon Charleston was gathering donations in Djeebus's name for something called the Big Project. The doctrine had the shape of a sermon and the smell of a pyramid scheme: fear, donation tiers, promised importance, and a suspicious project image that did not exactly inspire holy confidence. Jonah did not let it pass quietly. He challenged the message with real Djeebus theology and enough performance to make the crowd listen. Creation, faith, and moral weight stood against Djon's donation machine. Of the roughly forty people listening, about fifteen walked away because Jonah gave them a better reason to doubt. That was not a full victory. Djon Charleston did not collapse. He invited Jonah to visit the new Djeebus chapel in the old Black Ward church, which placed the conflict directly above a former safe house and turned the argument into a future appointment. Jonah had found a rival Djeebus movement in Gravenhurst. Whether Djon was a fraud, a prophet, or something worse, he was no longer background noise.
