Bones Sees Too Many Maines

Bones greeted Maine at the cemetery, and for one brief second the escape almost looked like it might become a reunion. Then Bones saw the crowd. Maine was not alone. Worse, Maine was not unique. The maze had delivered My Alchemical Romance, Vic, Arthur, Vala, Podon, Helga, Valbrant, and enough context to make any simple explanation collapse. Inside the crypt stood three elves: Maine, Enemy, and another similar variant. The maze had not ended the Maine-variant crisis. It had delivered everyone directly into it. Bones was forced to confront multiple Maine-looking figures at once, with Enemy present under unclear circumstances and danger waiting in the shape of familiar faces. This was the correct bridge into the later Gravenhurst fallout: Enemy had appeared, but he had not died yet. Not in this transcript. Not in this moment. The portal escape closed one nightmare. Bones's cemetery opened the next.
