Vic Vaurr's part of the maze became a fight with something that could not keep its own shape steady. The shapeshifter's skin kept changing color as it lost control. Vic met it with hand axes first, staying in the rhythm that had already made him useful beside Morgan. But the maze had been teaching everyone the same practical lesson: walls were not sacred. Walls could be broken. Walls could become exits if enough force hit them at the right angle. Vic understood that in his own language. Murderball. He grappled the shapeshifter and drove it headfirst into a wall, using his body and momentum like a route through the maze. Later, with rage still burning after taking damage, he would push the tactic even further, using a huge athletics surge to drive the enemy fully through a wall while escaping. That made Vic more than the minotaur looking for his dog. He became a physical maze-breaker. The same instincts that made him dangerous in sport made him useful in Vithyrex's collapsing corridors. Where Jonah negotiated, Morgan stole, and Ash scouted, Vic ran through the problem until the architecture gave up.
