Ash Finds the Note That Says I Will Find You

Ash's isolated sector of the maze kept unfolding like a survival story someone else had abandoned. The Vithyrex eye had caught him, teleported him away, and reduced his maximum hit points by one. That made the separation feel physical, not just inconvenient. The maze had taken something from him and then left him with Drow, flameskulls, broken walls, and doors that might open onto something worse. Ash did what Ash does. He broke walls to evade and scout. He fought a flameskull. He used old Pringle potion drinks to recover. He found 122 gold. He also found a note ending with the promise: "I'm gonna go find you." That note changed the room's emotional temperature. It suggested this corner of the maze had once held someone else's love story, rescue attempt, or doomed search. The same place that offered loot and danger also preserved the last motion of a person choosing to go after someone they loved. Ash saw a smaller gazer-like eye beyond another door and chose caution. For once, caution felt earned.
