Act 5, Episode 4, Scene 31
Maine Keeps Pressure Off Arthur
2026-03-05 / Dragonborn corridor
On Arthur's side of the maze, the fight stayed ugly and direct. Ash and Maine continued helping Arthur against the hostile dragonborn. Ash moved like Ash, darting in for hit-and-run strikes and refusing to become an easy target. Maine worked at range, repeatedly blasting the dragonborn with Eldritch Blast and using the maze's breakable walls against them whenever force could become positioning. The fight was more than a tactical choice. Maine's instinct was still to support Arthur as a clone-brother figure. That made sense emotionally, even while it made the wider maze problem worse. Jonah's route had aligned him with different dragonborn who also needed help and claimed their own heart-piece path. Maine could protect Arthur in one corridor and still be pulled toward a conflict with Jonah's allies in another. Later, Maine tried to use his War General's prosthetic arm to give Arthur an extra attack. Arthur missed. Even the attempted teamwork carried that particular maze feeling: the right loyalty, the right gesture, and still no guarantee that the world would cooperate.
