Vithyrex found Morgan through a face carved for wanting.

In one corridor, she encountered a lover-face statue with red lips that whispered her name. The magic was intimate in the most invasive way: not a monster charging from the dark, but a voice asking her body to move closer before she had fully chosen to.

The compulsion pushed her toward a kiss.

Instead, it forced open one of the maze's books: The Book That Forgot. Inside was a sad love story about an ice genasi, memory, and emotional cold. The reward came through the wound. Morgan gained immunity to ice until the next time ice damage struck her, after which the gift would settle into indefinite resistance.

The maze had shown its method.

It was not handing out boons like treasure in a chest. It was targeting people through romance, pressure, memory, and old patterns. Morgan resisted the kiss later by recognizing the shape of toxic attachment. She had known that kind of pull before.

The trap disappeared.

The lesson stayed.
