The maze kept turning treasure into confession. Maine opened a chest and found an image instead of an ordinary prize: an elf with a red blade and a dwarf with an axe, each holding a weapon to the other's throat. It was not subtle. Vithyrex's Maze had spent session after session turning love, rivalry, violence, and choice into architecture. Now it compressed that same idea into a picture and waited for Maine to pick a side. He chose the elf. The red blade manifested as loot, and the connected door fell open. As with the earlier disappearing bags, the maze made reward depend on symbolic selection. The chest was not asking what Maine wanted in a shopping sense. It was asking what image he aligned with in a moment of conflict. The weapon's exact name and effects still needed to be finalized, so for now the record kept it as the red blade. That was enough for the recap. Maine made a choice.
