The next session did not begin with a new problem. It began inside the old one. The party was still trapped in Vithyrex's Maze, still split, and still living in the combat Morgan had cracked open with Corpse Explosion. The cyclops was still there. Ash battered it and pulled back. Maine hit it with Eldritch Blast hard enough to crack it through a wall, and the maze answered with one of its stranger truths: the walls could break. That changed everything. A dead end was no longer always a dead end. A monster was not only a threat. In the right moment, it could become a demolition tool. When the cyclops smashed through more walls while chasing the scattered party, it turned the maze from a fixed puzzle into a place that could be wounded, opened, and cheated. Maine's blast also revealed a hidden boon book, The Chapel of Open Wounds, tucked behind the broken structure. Vithyrex had hidden gifts inside the architecture, which meant violence against the maze could become a kind of reading. The party had been looking for paths. Now they knew they could make them.
