Morgan found the minotaur lead, but not in the shape Braska had made her expect. Vic Vaurr was a minotaur barbarian trapped in the maze, searching for his missing dog. He had almost nothing left: his belt, his axe, and his pouch. In a labyrinth full of horn traps, minotaur symbolism, and a stolen heart-piece lead, his timing was suspicious enough to matter. Morgan treated him with caution. She offered a severed arm as a peace offering, which said more about Morgan's diplomacy than Vic's appetite. Vic threw it away. He wanted his dog, not a corpse snack, and he seemed unsure about the heart pieces rather than proudly guarding one. That distinction mattered. Braska said a crazed minotaur stole his heart piece. Vic was a minotaur in the right maze at the wrong time, but he was not yet proven to be the thief or the holder of a heart. He entered the party's active orbit as an ally of convenience, a suspect by symbolism, and a person with his own missing love to find. Labyrinths were supposed to be his thing.
