Act 5, Episode 4, Scene 13
The Horn Door Opens to a Meaningless Post
2026-02-19 / Horned double door and post corridor
Ash and Maine found a door that wanted them to overthink it. It was a horned double door, theatrical enough to look like a strength test, a monster joke, or a trap pretending not to be a trap. Maine tried force first. Eldritch Blast rebounded from one horn. Mage Hand triggered a horn attack that stabbed Ash. Ash tried flexing, because sometimes the obvious answer is worth checking and sometimes the maze enjoys saying no. The answer was simpler and stranger. Maine said "moo" and touched the left horn. The door opened. Beyond it, they found a frightened Lawful guard determined to defend his post. The problem was that the post seemed meaningless, or at least meaningless in the way bureaucracy can become holy to the person trapped inside it. The guard was guarding because that was what he had left. Vithyrex's maze turned masculinity, horns, authority, and procedure into door logic. Then it left a Lawful man protecting nothing.
