Homecoming became political the moment the amphitheater turned its attention to the new top team.

The New Centrum Security Forces were announced as the successor adventuring group, a public attempt to rebuild the Centrum's face through spectacle, legacy, and celebrity competence. It was not only an introduction. It was a message: the old security-force story had survived enough to be repackaged for the new Centrum.

Van from Fallout Bard stepped forward first.

His violin solo swept across the crowd and left everyone with the strange confidence of advantage on their next check. Then Vardara Moonsong was introduced as captain, anchoring the team in a polished public identity. The Martinique twins followed with less polish, shoving each other after being announced together.

Even that mattered.

The twins were not just performers or pretty names. They were illusionist fairies and witnesses to Albert murdering Orlanda Spakovich during early VQU history, stepsisters to Rhys Martinique, and living reminders that the new stage was built over old violence.

The Centrum was trying to look orderly.

Its own announcement carried ghosts.
