Act 5, Episode 3, Scene 37
Jonah Vouches for the Unfinished
2026-02-12 / Wish office hidden exit
After the fight, Paulus Levius did not only judge Jonah by doctrine. He asked Jonah to speak for the people beside him. That made the trial sharper than combat. Jonah had to introduce his allies honestly, not as perfect companions or convenient witnesses, but as people he actually knew. Dhaz, he said, was unformed clay: not yet fully shaped, not yet clearly worthy, but capable of becoming more. Maine was a self-creating person with a destructive past, someone making himself in real time out of damage, choice, and stubborn will. Morgan was harder. Jonah did not pretend she was safe. She was terrifying, and he could not clearly call her worthy in the simple way a holy judge might want. But he also could not dismiss her as unworthy. Ash, by contrast, was balanced and worthy even when he did not believe it himself. Paulus Levius listened. The test had become relational. Jonah's possible Paragonhood was measured not only by faith, but by how truthfully he could see the people he carried with him.
