Act 5, Episode 3, Scene 35
Dhaz Is Crushed Under the Trial
2026-02-12 / Wish office
The wish office punished mistakes immediately. The white guardian slammed Dhaz down hard. Maine blasted it backward into a pillar, which solved part of the room's problem but created another one: rubble fell onto Dhaz as the collision stripped the guardian's aura away. Dhaz got back up because the party forced him back up. Then Paulus Levius struck the room with a burst of force and coin, and Dhaz was crushed again. This time the damage left more than bruises. The injury became a lasting weakness tied to death itself, a permanent disadvantage on death saving throws from the critical injury roll. That mattered because Dhaz had entered this dungeon trying to stand without his father's armor. He had chosen his own shape after the Pelosh pressure, only to be broken again inside a divine accounting chamber. He survived the trial, but survival was not the same as leaving untouched. The cathedral had been asking who was worthy. Dhaz's answer came through pain, and the room did not yet give him a gift for it.
