Act 5, Episode 3, Scene 16
The Bad-Boy Paragon of Djeebus
2026-01-22 / Cathedral entry / utility passage
The first clear clue came from a side passage and a pouch of gold. Morgan found it with an old Djeebus symbol, and Jonah recognized the mark well enough to place the dungeon in a more complicated line of faith. The symbol pointed toward Paulus Levius, a former Paragon of Djeebus whose story had never sat comfortably inside clean doctrine. Paulus Levius was remembered through the eight temptations. He was also remembered through a relationship with Djeebus that sounded less like devotion and more like negotiation: fraught, transactional, jealous, and full of bargains. Morgan called him a bad-boy Paragon, which was not exactly a theological term, but it caught the shape of the problem. This cathedral was not merely abandoned. It belonged to a legacy where worship had warped around payment, temptation, and divine favoritism. If the causeway had proved Djeebus could still answer here, the pouch proved that someone had once made that answer into a business model. The party had found the name of the rot. Paulus Levius.
