Act 5, Episode 2, Scene 2
The Weight Under Aleklot's Rest
2025-11-20 / Road briefing
The road mission came with history before it came with monsters. Aleklot's Rest had begun as the resting place of Aleklot the Green, a dragon whose name still shaped the land long after the old age of dragons had broken. When the dragons were trapped in crystals and Emrys's first tyranny ended, the site became something different: a dragonborn pilgrimage place, a location where memory, reverence, and survival gathered around what remained. Then history kept moving. After the Dracuscan War, Aleklot's Rest declined into a battlefield-looting site. Reverence gave way to scavenging. Sacred ground became opportunity. Old artifacts, once tied to pilgrimage and dragon legacy, became objects people could steal, trade, bury, or misunderstand. By the time QUEST sent the party there, the place had become a small Centrum-protected town. That changed the mission's meaning. Recovering magical artifacts from beneath Aleklot's Rest was not ordinary dungeon work. The artifacts belonged to a location layered with dragonborn memory, dragon history, Centrum protection, post-war damage, and whatever remained beneath the pilgrimage site. The party was told to meet the dungeon guide when they arrived. But before anyone set foot underground, the briefing made one thing clear: whatever waited under Aleklot's Rest would carry more than loot value.
