The party reaches the middle exit and hears Lawful elves above them.

Vic recognizes one voice before Morgan confirms the problem by tone: one of the elves is Morgan's bratty sister. The group surfaces anyway, badly and noisily enough to earn questions about sewer travel, identification, and what exactly they think they are doing under Velvet Cross.

Then Maine steps out of the house.

The patrol calls him Master Rabe. He dismisses them, and the situation changes shape around the title. Maine is not just free. He has local leverage, a house, and enough authority in this pocket of Velvet Cross to make Lawful pressure step back.
