Act 5, Episode 11, Scene 2

A Lawful psychoanalyst conducts the second phase of Maine's trial. He asks whether Maine is responsible for his choices, a victim, dangerous or unstable, a state asset, or a political liability. Maine calls himself more than a state asset and resists the examiner's framing. When the examiner proposes reading or probing his mind for useful information, Maine refuses; the magistrate accepts the refusal and ends the psychoanalysis phase.
