The central quad looked like a campus showing itself off. Powered students demonstrated what the New Centrum era wanted people to see: rainbow bursts, sand clones, alchemy stations, strange necromantic oddities, and the curated weirdness of a university trying to turn danger into recruitment. The First Five moved through that atmosphere as symbols before they were fully people to most of the crowd. But the celebration had a second sound. Or rather, a place where sound should have been. A protest cluster gathered under a silence bubble, visible but muted, present but contained. They did not need to overwhelm the festival to change its meaning. Their existence was enough. VQU's new order had supporters, spectacle, and student power on display, but it also had dissent close enough to see. That tension became the true texture of the scene.
