Point Pringle did not leave the crisis empty of rulers. That was the victory and the problem. PP4 stepped into the space left by the collapse and claimed leadership of the city. He said he had been cursed into the entity of Kaos, turning the catastrophe into a confession, explanation, defense, or political frame depending on who was listening. The statement did not settle what had happened. It made the uncertainty official. But one rule still mattered more than comfort. A Pringle remained in charge. Because of that, the existing arrangement keeping Point Pringle from joining the Lawful of Jericha continued. The city avoided immediate Lawful annexation, which had been one of Baron's original fears and one of the party's central pressures throughout the Point Pringle crisis. The outside structure did not get to absorb the city simply because the city had nearly collapsed. That did not make PP4 a clean answer. Leadership passed to a man tied directly to Kaos, the maze, and the city's supernatural breakdown. Eveline, PP5, and the rest of the Pringle legacy remained tangled in the same question Point Pringle had been asking since the funeral began: what does it mean for a Pringle to protect the city when the Pringles themselves are part of the wound? Lawful did not take Point Pringle. But Point Pringle's freedom came with PP4 at its center.
