Act 3, Episode 2, Scene 8
Deviness Chooses Greta's Camp
2025-05-22 / Outside Stormcall Lawful office / Greta’s camp
The party left the Lawful office and found the people they had forgotten to protect. Deviness confronted them first. She had left Flesh because the party had made safety sound possible, then they had left her in a house near a murder scene with Beeper and too many unanswered questions. Her anger was not dramatic. It was practical. She had trusted the wrong moment and nearly been abandoned inside it. The party regrouped around the problem. Deviness was a Flesh defector, which made her useful and vulnerable at the same time. She had healing magic, but bringing her into the next fight felt like turning a rescued person into equipment. Leaving her alone in Stormcall was worse. So they wrote to Greta. The note was not elegant, but it was clear enough: this woman with the eye over her face needed protection. She was probably harmless, possibly a wild card, and might still matter. Greta was strong enough to keep her alive. Beeper refused the same plan. She was still looking for Andrea Dawson, her best friend, and would not retreat to camp while that search was unfinished. Her thread split away from Deviness's protection problem. Before she left, Deviness gave the party the lead they needed. The skull-faced boy connected to the Reclaimer had mentioned activity in the warehouse district. That was enough. The party escorted Deviness back to Greta's camp, where Greta accepted her with hesitation but did take her in. Then My Alchemical Romance returned to Stormcall's warehouse district with a safer conscience and a sharper target. The Tallyman hunt had found its next door.
