The warehouse had given the party one answer and one direction. If Flesh scavengers used anonymous drop piles, then the construct effigy outside should have been bait, evidence, or both. Jonah considered using the parts themselves, leaving them somewhere and watching who came to collect them. But when the party returned to where the effigy had been, the parts were already gone. Someone had picked them up while My Alchemical Romance was inside the warehouse. That changed the lead from theory to active operation. Nick searched through the crates before they left and found a recent knapsack: an old sandwich, a silver ring, and a handout for a Forged Pride celebration in Silver Helix Square. The event was public. It was current. It was full of forged citizens and exactly the sort of place Flesh could turn ideology into spectacle. The party did not need to guess where the next danger might be. Stormcall's center drew them back toward crowds, vendors, disabled fountains, transmutation pylons, and a celebration trying to exist under the pressure of murder investigations and missing forged bodies. The warehouse had been hidden. The next target was not.
