Threads of Truth Safehouse

PP5 brought the Ex Force to a shop that looked forgotten on purpose. The sign above the door read Threads of Truth, its lettering cracked and sun-faded. Dust coated the windows. The old sigil lock no longer glowed. PP5 knocked twice, then once more, and a drowned mechanical chime answered from inside. The latch clicked. Upstairs, the safehouse was warmer than the storefront suggested. It smelled of incense, scorched thread, and arcane tea. Rugs covered the creaking floorboards. Maps, sigils, old furniture, and scavenged lecture-hall pieces made the place feel half resistance cell and half abandoned student lounge. Araspinn was there. She sat on a worn velvet couch, knitting thread-thin spider silk with dagger-sized needles. Maine approached her and apologized for the Game Master Spectacle, admitting that he had been trying to protect his own team and had not done enough to help everyone trapped in the game. Araspinn barely looked up at first, then met his eyes long enough to say it was all right before returning to her knitting. The apology did not solve everything, but it mattered. Rahab emerged next from behind a beaded curtain, steaming from the shower, mischief in her eyes and water still caught in her fur. Maple sat in the corner like a child-sized patchwork doll until she moved, slowly enough to make everyone aware she had been watching the whole time. PP5 called it home sweet hideout. Then Maine found a token in his pocket: a Mystery Machine token, the kind the party associated with the strange machines in other cities. Point Pringle had one somewhere, even if they had not found it yet. The safehouse had warmth, humor, and old connections. It also had secrets.
