It was cruel enough to make impossible things feel negotiable. Havyk pleaded anyway. He called for Rice Hands' mind and soul to return to the decrepit body in front of them. The Fate Hag had taken the parts of Rice Hands that made a return possible and dragged them somewhere ordinary healing could not follow. The others tried to find an answer.
