Act 2, Episode 6, Scene 12
Void Crystal and Warforged Arm
2025-03-27 / Jebus’s lamp studio
Before the party left Jebus's lamp, two pieces of unfinished business came forward. Nick brought up the scythes. They were powerful, stylish, and wrong. The weapons had been demanding souls, and Nick had refused to keep feeding them. After everything the party had just survived, carrying a soul-hungry curse into the next chapter felt less like power and more like a debt waiting to collect. Jebus asked to see them. Nick handed the scythes over and accepted the Creator's judgment. Jebus folded the weapons down between his hands until their cursed shape collapsed into something smaller: a black void crystal. The scythes were gone, at least as weapons. The hunger was no longer hanging from Nick's hands. Then Maine stepped forward with another question. He had the Warforged General's prosthetic arm and wanted it attached. Jebus studied him, asking, in his own way, what Maine even was after so many replacements, grafts, memories, and choices. Maine answered with the only answer that mattered. He was Maine. That was enough. Jebus helped attach the arm, adding another major modification to Maine's already altered body. The new limb carried battlefield command potential: once per day, Maine could use it to direct an ally into another weapon attack. Nick left with a void crystal instead of cursed scythes. Maine left with the commander's arm. Both changes mattered because the party was no longer only escaping the past. They were being rebuilt for the next mission.
