Act 2, Episode 6, Scene 10
Trixie Cuts the Show
2025-03-27 / Dragon arena / void studio
Maine's blast tore a wound through the dragon arena. The beam punched through the creature, through the false trees, through the constructed battlefield, and into the skin of the game itself. The void split open. For one moment, Exaba Prime's final round stopped looking like a spectacle and started looking like a system breaking under stress. Then Trixie stepped through. She did not arrive as a savior. She arrived as a producer who hated the product. The Game Master looked at Exaba Prime's finale and called cut. The dragon, the forced release, the suffering, the prizes, the whole construction of the round: none of it pleased her. It was not fun enough. It would not sell. The kids would not watch it. That was the horror of the intervention. Trixie did not object because the game was cruel. She objected because the cruelty was bad entertainment. Still, her decision ended the round. Exaba Prime lost control of the spectacle. The arena collapsed out from under the party. Nick, Maine, Ash, Jonah, and Dhaz were pulled out of the Game Master's territory and dropped somewhere else before the dragon could decide the rest of their lives. Jebus's contract had opened a way out. Trixie's boredom had finished the job. The party survived the Game Master Spectacle, but no one could mistake survival for winning cleanly. They had escaped through the politics of the Power Nine, through Jonah's faith, through Maine's violent tear in the arena, and through Trixie's refusal to let Exaba Prime keep making a show she no longer wanted to air.
