Blastbelle's patience finally broke because Blastbelle was not there. The body in front of the party twisted, shrank, and came apart. The Thieves Guild contact they had followed into the sewers collapsed into three red caps, little Fey killers with iron boots, wicked sickles, and blood-wet hunger where a desperate ally had been standing a moment before. CC had been right. There was no time to enjoy being correct. One red cap came down on Jonah immediately, cutting him twice before the party could reset from the argument. Jonah dropped unconscious in the sewer, the same man who had just trusted the mystery of CC and argued for a vote now bleeding at the center of the reveal. Another red cap pressed Maine. A gray ooze reached from the rat pile toward Ash, proving the sewer still had leftover teeth even after the Rat King fell. The party snapped into motion around the key. Ash's role became simple: protect the key and keep people alive. Victor, dressed down for the sewer and finally in the fight, marked targets and cut into the red caps. Maine let his innate sorcery flare through his metal eye in blue-purple fire, shocking one attacker and trying to keep space between himself and the sickles. Dhaz drew his arm blade and held near Jonah, refusing to let the fallen cleric become easy prey. Ash spent what he had left. He kicked away from the ooze, struck through the red caps, and burned his last ki to combine a flurry with healing hands. Jonah came back with breath in his lungs and Ash standing guard beside him, spent but stubborn. Then Jonah reached for the potion. It was an old piece of inventory with a strange promise inside: the Potion of Ice Golem. When Jonah drank it, the sewer cold gathered around him. Water and condensation froze across his body. His frame hardened into an ice-forged warrior, strength flooding through him until the gentle priest of the Creator looked like someone carved for war. He told everyone to run. Then he hit back. The mace came down with cold force, and suddenly the fight had a new center. Jonah's strikes carried ice through bone and flesh. His life-burst magic spilled healing into the allies near him while he fought, turning offense and recovery into one motion. The red caps that had dropped him now had to face something much harder to cut. The whole battle tilted. Victor burned and marked his target. Maine's Witch Bolt snapped lightning through the ooze and red cap alike, the updated spell clinging even when the first strike missed. Dhaz stayed in the press despite taking sickle wounds. Ash dodged a red cap's iron-boot kick and kept the line from folding. But the image that stayed was Jonah. Jonah, frozen over in sewer water. Jonah, smashing through Fey attackers with a weapon that usually served faith more than fury. Jonah, turning an emergency potion into the moment the false Blastbelle stopped feeling like a clever trap and started feeling like a mistake the infiltrators had made. The disguise was gone. The Fey threat was real. And the party had survived the first proof of it with the stash key still out of enemy hands.
