## **Episode 3 – Scene 2: Ash Stonefist** **[NARRATION]** Ash Stonefist had the room to himself. Eveline was outside at the festival, probably still under that charm-lit canopy with her friends. Earlier that morning they’d spoken — about the mirror, about Balance and Dominion, about whatever counted as “normal” these days. It was a conversation you could tuck away as harmless. Except it wasn’t staying tucked. It looped in his head now, half-memory, half-intrusion, as he sat staring at the same mirror they’d discussed. **EVELINE (in memory):** "Thanks for fixing the mirror." (beat) "What’s that in your hands?" **[NARRATION]** He hadn’t noticed the weight until she asked. The HypnoHelix. Cold and pulsing, like it was remembering its own dream. The mirror shifted. His reflection’s eyes collapsed into black holes. They pulled at him — gently at first, like the tide teasing the sand. Then harder. The way drowning starts as curiosity before it becomes panic. **[NARRATION]** Ash didn’t remember standing. Didn’t remember when the room went dark. He was in the dream again, knee-deep in liquid thought, the Aboleth rising from the depths with the inevitability of a bad habit. **ABOLETH (from the dark):** _When the time comes, will you choose Order, Balance, or Sacrifice?_ **[NARRATION]** He tried to meditate, clinging to his mantras — _Calm. Balance. Structure._ — as if words could close a floodgate. The Aboleth laughed, a sound that broke apart into wet static, and struck him with a tentacle. Pain ripped through him. Twelve points of it, if you were counting. He wasn’t down yet. So it hit him again. Twenty more reasons to wake up. **[NARRATION]** Ash came to on the floor, lungs working like they were trying to outrun his ribs. The slime was still on his skin — real enough to matter. He sat up, the HypnoHelix still in his hand, cold and certain. **ASH (hoarse):** "Gross. Team meeting." **[NARRATION]** Somewhere outside, the festival roared on. But in here, the air had already shifted. **[END SCENE]**
