The faith of root, grove, and ordered growth
Verdantism is the Jerichan faith tradition devoted to Ylthwyn and Vessina, the Sister Treants. It is a faith of restraint, renewal, obligation, and the belief that civilization must remember the land beneath it.
Power
Growth, order, nature's protection, and stewardship.
Ylthwyn is the Elder Root: memory, patience, continuity, and survival through slow growth. Vessina is the Young Bough: renewal, flexibility, and the old world bending enough to remain alive.
Doctrine
Verdantists teach that expansion without return is a wound. A tree cut for a home demands planting, a field harvested demands offering, and a city built from stone must leave space for root, moss, shade, and rain.
Practice
Common practices include Planting Rituals, Blessing of the Harvest, Binding of Stone and Root, and the Verdant Concordance for dispute settlement through restoration rather than victory.
Sects
The Verdant Order seeks sustainable civilization, Grovekeepers protect sacred sites, Urban Verdantists repair cities, and the Rootbound force civilization to retreat from land they believe has already been overclaimed.
Modern
Post-Centrum Verdantism is resurgent amid damaged farmland, polluted rivers, and failed magical infrastructure. Its main conflict is whether Jericha can still be taught balance or must be forced back into it.
