Ewig, the Eternal Flame
Description
Ewig is the flame of transition: the old body becoming ash, grief becoming wisdom, and the self that must die so another self can live. Ewig does not promise gentle change, only that nothing remains unchanged forever.[3]
All things must burn
Description
A name, grief, sin, home, addiction, title, kingdom, body, or belief may need to be surrendered before transformation can begin. Death is a sacred threshold rather than failure.[4]
Fire-walking, ash marks, and cremation
Description
Pyronist rites include Fire-Walking, Ash Rituals, Phoenix Cycles of fasting and isolation, sacred cremation, and the deliberate release of old attachments.[5]
Fire Monks, Ashen Sect, Burned Ones, Purifiers
Description
Major branches include Traditional Pyronists, Fire Monks, the Ashen Sect, Burned Ones, Radical Purifiers, and Phoenix Warlocks.[6]
What must be surrendered?
Description
Pyronism is spreading among refugees, veterans, former prisoners, and ruined communities. Some help communities grieve and rebuild; others preach that Jericha itself must burn before it can be reborn.[7]
