Aspects and Jericha Society
A Witchborn's Aspect is one supernatural part of their identity. Its usefulness depends on what they want to do, where they live and which training is available.
Species have tendencies toward particular Aspects. Fire djinni commonly having Pyrokinesis is one example. These tendencies influence which abilities are familiar in a community and the knowledge people develop around them. They do not make every member of a species the same person or give someone an additional Aspect.
People can value different powers for adventuring, local work or the needs of a village. Some experiment in pursuit of a desired Aspect. Some have children repeatedly hoping for an Aspect they consider a good one. Those choices and expectations shape families, opportunities and society.
An Aspect can be replaced by another innate Aspect when an established event changes it. Vampirism, lycanthropy and lichdom are familiar replacement examples; they are not the only possibilities. The Witchborn still has one Aspect at a time.
Training develops what a person can do with their current power. Learned work, crafting, astronomy, mask-making and companion care remain available through their own skills, tools and rules. Owning a tool does not itself confer an Aspect, and an Aspect does not automatically confer professional training.
This edition does not introduce inheritance percentages or a general ritual for obtaining a different Aspect. Existing stories and specific procedures establish actual replacements. Mastery respecs change investment within the current Aspect; they do not change its identity.
