Overview
A healing potion is a single-use restorative draught. It can be swallowed by an injured creature or administered by someone within reach, restoring lost vitality without bringing the dead back to life.[1]
Rules at a glance
Edge cases
A creature must be able to swallow the potion for it to work. Drinking or administering the same dose cannot heal more than one creature. Healing cannot exceed the target's hit point maximum; it does not revive a dead creature. Each dose is a separate use and unused healing is not stored.[1]
Complete rules
As an action, you can drink this potion or administer it to a creature within your reach. The creature regains 2d4 + 2 hit points, and the potion is consumed.[1]
